So i've finally come to talk about my race that I did! It has taken me forever! Let's just say it was awesome! Hard but awesome! It was only hard because of my bad calves that I have! Lame! But all the color really helped get my mind off of it! It was a really good experience for me and I'm looking forwards to the next races. Not really the dirty dash...that one I'm a bit nervous for! I have no idea why I signed up for it! I'm just crazy..i know!
Life is going good for me. Not a whole lot is going on. Just working and I only have one calling now. They released me from my sports calling. Thankfully! So I'm focusing all on visiting teaching and loving it! So there you go! My mom and I are starting to go on a hike every tuesday and that will be great! We have all ready done one and I am excited to do the others!

Stressful.....
Hello there! Well i thought that I should post something, but I don't really have a whole lot to say. My Book of Mormon challenge started off good, but my timer has run out and I'm not finished....YET! Sadly I just couldn't get into the habit. I want to read it and really learn the stories and doctrine, but it's still hard for me to read every night. I just don't know how to get in the habit of reading EVERY day/night. I'm working on it.
Work is going good still! I'm loving it. Ya there is still that one lady that drives me crazy, but you always have to have at least one right?
My callings are stressful. I just talked to one of my bishopric members about it this morning. It's been really hard having my sports calling. I don't know why I can't just have my Visiting Teaching calling that I love and worry only about that one. But I have to split my focus to two completely different things and make sure both go smoothly. It's just quite stressful. It's going to be crazy this summer with all the new people coming into our ward to make sure everyone has vt teachers and someone to visit teach. And then make sure we have fun sports to play every wednesday night for everyone. We will see what happens!
Other than that, my running is slowly coming along. No matter how long or hard I stretch, I still get pain in my calfs and occasionally shin splints. I still can't run very far without stopping for a bit and stretching or doing something else then go back to running. My first race is coming up soon and I really hope I can do it. I know I won't be running the whole time, but my biggest accomplishment for me right now would just to run a full 3 miles without stopping or walking. I really hope I can get there soon, cause it's stressing me out that I can barely even run a full 10 min. How sad is that? Pretty sad if you ask me.

Spring is here!
Well hopefully it is here! Sure looks like it has been, but I do know that a storm is coming this weekend. So we will see! So it's been a while since i've posted but it seams like I say that all the time! I really just don't have a whole lot to say so I make sure I have a few months behind me so I have things to say to catch up! ;)
So since spring is here, it's time to start signing up for all the races! And yes...I have signed up for TWO races! But they are not normal races! I've joined a group with my work to do these! I think I might just be crazy or something, but I'm excited cause that just means that I'm doing something active and getting involved with those I work with. So the first one, which is on April 28th, is called Color Me Rad. It's a 5K race at UVU, but not timed so that will be good. The second one is on June 2nd and it's called The Dirty Dash. That one isn't timed either. Go watch the videos at www.colormerad.com and www.thedirtydash.com and you will understand why they aren't timed! :) I'm just excited to be out doing something. You might think I'm crazy with these types of races but I'm excited to get "dirty"! ;)
But now since i've been running almost everyday....I'm getting major shin splints and calf cramps. It seriously is so annoying! I'm trying to not get discouraged, and I'm trying to find ways to stretch them out so it doesn't hurt to run, but maybe I just need to try harder. I really hope I will be ready by the end of April!
But besides the races(you know, trying to be in shape like my sister Amanda), I have another sister, Angie, that I'm trying to be like too. She said that she got a white envelope in the mail and her husband laughed at her. Well sis...I got one too! I've been summoned for Jury Selection and maybe even Jury Duty. That will be at the end of this month so we will see what happens. A lot of people hate jury duty or are sad when they get that "awesome" letter in the mail, but as I've been thinking about it...I've always wanted to know what it would be like to be on a jury. But it's kind of intimidating for a little 24 year old to be on a jury to decide someone's fate. But I'm intrigued and I wouldn't mind for my first time to be apart of it. We will just have to wait and see! :)
Other than that I'm still just working and laughing at all the cute/funny little kids that come in everyday and staying busy with my callings! Until next time!

New year, new me!
I first want to warn you all that this may become a really long post as I try to say all that I want to, so bear with me! Also, I'm going to make my blog private again, so if you want to keep reading what I have to say, send me your email! :)
HAPPY NEW YEAR!
To start off this new year, I was released from my Activities Committee Chair and called to be the Visiting Teaching Coordinator. I have to change my mind set completely! I guess you know you did your calling well, when you have a lot of people come up to you and tell you how sad they will be that I won't be planning the activities anymore. :) Makes me feel better about myself! Man that was a stressful calling, but totally worth it! I loved it and I'm excited for my new adventures in my new calling.
As it is a new year, the New Year Resolutions start coming out. Mom and Angie have asked me what my resolutions are, and I couldn't give an answer. I didn't really know, until I really started thinking about it. I have the usual: loose weight, don't eat as many sweets or drink soda, etc. You know the ones everybody has. But I have one more that I feel inclined to tell you, but I'll get to that in a minute. This past week, and more, I have noticed a sadness growing inside of me. I guess I've kind of always had this. I've been worse this past week-grumpy, annoyed with people, and not knowing what is going on. I've always knew deep down what was wrong and what I needed to do to change, but I've never done anything about it. Till now.
I just finished reading this book called Borrowed Light. The setting is in the 1900's and is about a girl from Salt Lake, a Mormon, moving to Wyoming for a job as a cook for a non-Mormon. In the story he asks this girl why she is a Mormon, or why she believes what she does. Her answer? "Because that is what I grew up in. It's all I know." He also asks her why she had to marry in the temple. "Because its what us Mormon's do." Was her answer. She has never had anyone ask her these questions, cause she has never really known anyone that wasn't a member. But it got her thinking that she should know better answers then those. She then realizes that she has never read the Book of Mormon. Bits and pieces yes, but the whole way through no. She has lived all her 26 years leaning on her family's "light". She knew the church was true, because that's what her parents taught her. She has never inquired it of herself.
This girl, Julia, is just like me. As I read this book, it got me to really think of all that I need to change to change my attitude. I have never read the Book of Mormon all they way through. I've never inquired of the Lord if it is true. I've never learned for myself. I've always just said that I believed and thought it was true because that was what I learned growing up. It's what I was taught by teachers and family. Yes, I probably can give better answers to some of the questions she was asked, but how can I be a witness to my Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ if I haven't learned it for myself? So as I tried to figure out why I've been so grumpy, I realized it was because I have been missing this most important piece in my life.
So this is my main and most important New Years Resolution: COME UNTO CHRIST! I've always made plans to read the Book of Mormon, but I get some of the way through and get out of habit of reading, or forget where I was and stop reading. Then I have to start over again. Not this time! I'm going the whole way through! I've found a fresh unmarked Book of Mormon and I have my notebook beside me, I'm ready to go. A good incentive to keep me focused is that my ward is doing a Book of Mormon challenge to read the book all the way through from now till April 8th. So I think that will help me keep motivated.
I needed to express this to someone and I especially wanted my family to know. Just so that you can be there to encourage me in all that I'm doing. I hope by April or sooner I will become a better person and a better example to my Savior.
I love you all and I'm so grateful for you! Thank you for letting me borrow your light. Now I'm off to find my own.

Update
So, I really need to find a way to get in the habit of getting on here once a week, or at least more often then I do! :) But here is an update!

Here is my lovely name tag! I LOVE MY NEW JOB! Ya there are times where it is slow and boring, and i'm not sure what to do, but I love it! I felt so welcomed in, unlike my previous job! I can tell that they really appreciate their employees! Everyone has been really nice and are eager to get to know me. I love the little incentives that have happened, like wearing this name tag got me a $10 gift card to iTunes. One of the doctors one day came up to the front and told us all to order from JCW'S, because he was buying lunch for everyone. Little things like that happen every once in a while, and it just keeps you knowing that you are appreciated for working for them. I love it! Not even because of that, but because of what I do. I went to school for this and I'm actually doing it. I get to see all the cute little kids come in. I get to see all the interesting names parents name their kids..haha! :)
Other than finally enjoying what I do, i'm still just working on getting everything ready for my ward Christmas party! Picture this....Live band, catered food from Magelby's, karaoke, dancing, Santa Claus, Photo booth, Ugly sweater contest....how can a party like that not be AWESOME!! :) I'm way excited for this! I'm such a good planner! HA!
That's my life right now! So you can say i'm doing pretty good!
Till next time!
